The Armory Show is an international art fair that has been a cornerstone of New York’s cultural landscape since its founding in 1994. This year’s edition features 240 of the world’s top contemporary and modern art galleries from 30 countries. The fair is a fun and exciting experience that gives visitors a chance to see what is happening in today’s art world.
Meet WMG Programming Chair – and veteran Armory Show attendee – Jane Wesman for a one-hour tour of some of the most interesting galleries at the show. You will meet select gallerists and learn about the art on view in their booths. You will then be able to wander the fair at your leisure – on your own or with other WMG members. Fair hours are noon to 8:00 p.m. This offer is limited to 15 WMG members, so sign up fast!

Publishing insiders will discuss what agents and publishers mean when they ask writers “What is your author platform?”. Discussion will revolve around what exactly is an author platform. What matters to agents and to publishers? Are all author platforms the same? What are the components of a platform? When and how should writers start building their platform? This is the perfect opportunity to learn the many ways writers can create robust communities waiting for their books; when they should begin building their platforms. Not only authors, but literary agents, editors, and marketing experts will find this a useful and informative discussion.
