Futurism: Seeing What's Next with Andrea Simon

A note from Andi on her theme: My podcast, On the Brink with Andi Simon, was ranked among the top 20 futurist podcasts. While it was a poll, and I was honored, I did not know I was a futurist. I am a corporate anthropologist specializing in helping organizations, and the people in them, to adapt to change. Since I was now called a futurist, I began to wonder what futurists did, how close it approximated what an anthropologist does, and how others might benefit from the perspectives of a “futurist.”

For this small group gathering, I thought it would be interesting to bring together people who were also interested in the future, and how to listen to the signals, understand the trends, and begin to visualize what is coming next. Some questions might include:

• What kind of different disruptions are you foreseeing?
  
• And what might that do to your life?
  
• What might it do to your business and for your industry?
  
• What does it do for society?
  
• What regulatory bodies are even aware of these changing paradigms?
  
• And what ethical concerns should we have as these things progress?
