Join us on a morning walk through one of New York’s most underrated landmarks, Green-Wood Cemetery, in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood. The living cemetery is a celebration of New York’s natural beauty, art, history, and of course, its people. Opening nearly two centuries ago, its 478 acres of hills, valleys, glacial ponds and paths are home to grand public monuments, stunning family shrines, private mausoleums, and even catacombs that serve as the final resting places of notable New Yorkers including politicians, artists, athletes and inventors.
This walk will be hosted by WMG member Elizabeth Barker.
Note: Please come dressed to walk approximately two miles on paved roads/paths. There are bike racks outside of the cemetery but no bikes or roller skates (or pets) are allowed within the cemetery grounds.
